Southampton – Manchester United
Southampton are going to host Manchester United at the St. Mary’s in a game from the 10th round of the Premier League. Here’s a good idea – let’s preview it just right now.
Southampton are one of the nicest surprises in the Premier League this season. In a huge contrast to the previous campaign, right now the Saints are doing surprisingly well. Southampton are currently 5th in the standings with 17 points and they are unbeaten in their last five matches. It’s a great work by the manager Ralph Hassenhuttl so far, we must admit it.
In their last game the Saints made their second draw for the season. Southampton paid a visit to Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Molineux and the game ended 1-1. The veteran Theo Walcott opened the score for the visitors, but Wolves successfully equalised with a goal from Pedro Neto just 15 minutes before the end.
Manchester United will be looking for a third consecutive win on Sunday. After beating Everton and West Bromwich Albion in their last two matches, United climbed up to 10th place in the Premier League standings. They still need to improve and get near the Top 4, though.
Last weekend Manchester United hosted West Bromwich Albion at the Old Trafford and it wasn’t easy. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team scored just once – by a penalty kick, executed by Bruno Fernandes. It was enough for the win, although surely the fans wanted to see more goals against one of the struggling teams in the league right now.
During the week Manchester United had a game in the Champions League as well. Solskjaer’s boys faced Istanbul Basaksehir at home and rocked them with a 4-1 win.
Southampton are in a great shape this season, so surely it won’t be an easy affair for the Red Devils. Manchester United must dig deep in order to take the win here.
