Real Madrid – Sevilla
Real Madrid and Sevilla are getting ready to deliver us some fantastic football when they face each other at the Santiago Bernabeu in a game from the 20th round of La Liga on Saturday.
For Real Madrid this is a first game since they triumphed in the Spanish Super Copa last Sunday. In Saudi Arabia Los Blancos won their 1/2-final match against Valencia, which was followed by a penalty shootout win over Atletico Madrid. This was just another trophy which Real Madrid won under the management of Zinedine Zidane. This season the legendary Frenchman will try to win La Liga for a second time as well.
We can say that Real Madrid are in a good position to chase the league title this season. Yes – Los Blancos are currently second in the standings, but with the same amount of points as the leader Barcelona. What they must do now is keep winning their games and wait for Barca to make a mistake. Right now Madrid are the team with the less amount of losses in the league as well – just one.
For Sevilla’s manager Julen Lopetegui this is going to be a return to the Santiago Bernabeu. Maybe you remember that Lopetegui was managing Real Madrid for a while last season, but he got sacked after just few months. Now he’s doing pretty well with Sevilla, because the Andalusians are 4th in the standings with 35 points won so far.
Last week Los Rojiblancos hosted Athletic Bilbao at the Sanchez Pizjuan, but the game ended without a winner – 1-1. It was Sevilla’s 5th draw for the season. The team is on par with the third Atletico Madrid, but at the moment Atletico have better stats.
The matches between Real Madrid and Sevilla in La Liga are usually offering a lot of thrill, so we expect to see some goals here.
