Real Madrid hosts Mallorca
Real Madrid hosts Mallorca at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano in a game from the 31th round of La Liga. Los Blancos have only one goal in their minds right now – making one more step towards the title in the Spanish league.
On Sunday Real Madrid got ahead of Barcelona as leaders in La Liga. Zinedine Zidane’s team had a tough visit to Real Sociedad in San Sebastian which they won with 2-1. Sergio Ramos and Karim Benzema scored for Los Blancos. This win could be really important for Madrid in the title race with Barcelona. It put the club on par with the Catalans, but they have better stats in the direct matches which allowed them to be on top.
Zidane took some interesting decision for the game at the Reale Arena. He put James Rodriguez and Vinicius in the starting eleven, while Eden Hazard and Gareth Bale didn’t play at all. Eder, Asensio, Mariano Diaz, Luka Modric and Ferland Mendy entered the pitch as substitutes after the halftime break.
Mallorca are not in the best possible situation at the moment. The club from Palma is fighting hard for its future in La Liga. At this moment Mallorca are 18th in the relegation zone with 26 points won – three points behind the 17th Eibar. They are in a desperate need of points right now.
In the previous round Mallorca won only a draw against Leganes in Palma. Salva Sevilla scored an early opened for the hosts, but Oscar Rodriguez equalised with a late goal for the visitors.
We can state the obvious here and say that we don’t see much of a chance for Mallorca in this game. Real Madrid are inspired at the moment and looking for the title, so we don’t believe that they will make a mistake against a struggling side like Mallorca. Let’s see.
