PSG – Monaco
The champion PSG hosts the current leader Monaco in the most interesting game of the French Ligue 1 for this weekend.
PSG are not enjoying the best possible form under their new manager Unai Emery in the League 1. The champions are currently placed at the 3rd spot in the standings, although they are just three points away from the leader Monaco.
Monaco on the other hand are enjoying a spectacular season in the Ligue 1 under the management of Leonardo Jardim. They are the most profilic team in France right now with 64 goals scored in just 21 goals. Just for comparison, PSG have scored 41 goals for the same amount of matches.
PSG’s manager Unai Emery is probaly aware that he could lose his job, if PSG fails to defend its Ligue 1 crown. The Parisians were dominating the league with Laurent Blanc at the helm, before the club’s owners decided to sack their former manager. So far, their decision is hardly paying off.
Leonardo Jardim will be without the central defender Kamil Glik, who is still recovering from his last injury. Because of the African Cup of Nations, Nabil Dirar and Adama Traore are also unavaliable for the home team.
Unai Emery also have some problems before his team’s game at the Parc des Princes. Thiago Motta is suspended because of yellow cards, while Javier Pastore, Grzegorz Krychowiak and Ju-lian Draxler are all recovering from injuries.
Both teams are showing a similar run of form in the last weeks. Monaco won all of their last three matches – against Caen, Olympique Marseille and Lorient, while PSG did the same thing against Lorient, Rennes and Nantes. It’s an important clash in the battle for the league title, so let’s see how these two teams will perform against each other. Most surely it’s going to be an interesting one.
