Napoli – Juventus
Napoli and Juventus are facing each other in the Coppa Italia final on Wednesday. This game is going to be played at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome. Let’s preview it.
Napoli reached the final of the competition after two dramatic 1/2-final legs against Inter Milan. The Azzurri won the first game in Milan with 1-0, but after just three minutes in Naples they were behind. It was Dries Mertens’ goal in the 41th minute which qualified Napoli for the final. The Belgian executed an assist from Lorenzo Insigne and he broke the record for most goals scored for the Italian club.
This is going to be the first chance of Gennaro Gattuso to win a trophy with Napoli. The World Cup winner replaced the sacked Carlo Ancelotti and now he can make his first triumph with the club.
In the second leg against Inter Gattuso left Allan, Fabian Ruiz, Jose Callejon and Arkadiusz Milik on the bench. He could be making some changes for the final, though. We are going to see.
Juventus on the other hand reached the final after eliminating AC Milan in the other 1/2-final. What’s interesting is that Juve eliminated the Rossoneri without a win in the two games. They made a 1-1 draw at the San Siro, while the 0-0 draw in Turin was enough for them to progress. Cristiano Ronaldo missed a penalty kick in the second leg, while Ante Rebic was sent off seconds later. This made Juventus’ triumph easier as Milan were unable to make a stand with 10 men on the pitch.
We believe that Napoli and Juventus will offer us a great spectacle at the Olimpico. Both teams will try to impose their style and dominate. Maurizio Sarri is going to face his former club, while for Gennaro Gattuso this is a chance to celebrate his first trophy as a manager in his career.
