Liverpool – Arsenal
We are getting ready for another big Premier League derby because on Monday Liverpool will face Arsenal at the Anfield. Both teams are perfect so far in the league – two wins in the first two rounds, but now they must go against each other. Let’s preview it.
Jurgen Klopp’s machine continues to dominate and nothing looks changed compared to the last season. Liverpool won their last three games in all competitions, including a terrific 7-2 win against Lincoln City in the Carabao Cup. If you thought Liverpool will remove their foot from the gas pedal, well – so far it’s not happening.
Liverpool’s new signings Thiago Alcantara and Diogo Jota made their debuts in the last two matches against Chelsea and Lincoln City. Thiago made a huge impression with his passing game against Chelsea, while Jota took part in Liverpool’s 7-2 win over Lincoln City for the Carabao Cup. Liverpool look like a complete team at the moment.
Unlike Liverpool, Arsenal are still not a complete team, but a project in work. Since the arrival of Mikel Arteta the Gunners are progressing well and they even won two trophies with the Spanish manager. The fans are now hopeful of something more in the next few years.
Arsenal kicked off their Premier League season in the same way – with two wins in the first two rounds. What the club will try to do is return to the Champions League. It won’t be easy, but Arsenal have enough potential to do it.
We must point out Liverpool are favourites against Arsenal, especially at the Anfield. Jurgen Klopp’s team is showing a solid level since the start of the season, but we can say the same about Arsenal as well. It remains to be seen how the Gunners will handle Liverpool’s dynamics and their famous pressing game. It won’t be easy.
