Inter Milan – Getafe
Inter Milan is one of the strongest team which remain in Europa League and they are among the favourites for the trophy. On Wednesday the Nerazzurri will try to make a step towards the 1/4-finals of the competition. Inter will host Getafe at the San Siro. Let’s take a look at this match.
For Inter Milan it was not a bad season so far. They didn’t win a trophy just yet, but they finished second in the Serie A and once again qualified for the Champions League. It was a decent first season for the manager Antonio Conte, but it would get even better with a triumph in Europa League.
In the previous round of the competition Inter Milan won twice against Bulgarian champions Ludogorets. The Nerazzurri scored twice in both games and secured their place in the 1/8-finals. It was more or less an easy job for the Italian giants.
In their last game in the Serie A Inter Milan showed their strenght with a win over one of Italy’s strongest teams Atalanta. The two starting halfbacks Danilo D’Ambrosio and Ashley Young scored for the visitors for the 2-0 win at the Gewiss Stadium.
Getafe finished 8th in La Liga and once again proved to be a decent team under the management of the talented coach Jose Bordalas. In certain moment Getafe were even dreaming of Champions League qualification, but they didn’t show the consistency they needed to achieve this.
Getafe showed their strenght in the previous round of Europa League, though. Bordalas’ team eliminated Dutch giants Ajax and proved to be an excellent team. Now they will try to show a similar level at the San Siro as well.
That’s our quick preview for the Europa League 1/8-finals fixture between Inter Milan and Getafe on Wednesday. We have zero doubts it’s going to be a pretty good game.
