Inter – Genoa

Inter Milan hosts struggling Genoa at the Stadio San Siro in a game from the 17th round of the Italian Serie A. For the Nerazzurri this is another chance to overtake Juventus at the top of the standings, while the visitors are desperate for points. Let’s take a look.

Inter Milan are second in the Serie A with 39 points, but they have a game in hand compared to the leader Juventus. The Bianconeri are leading the table with 42 points. The Nerazzurri said goodbye to the Champions League, but it seems that winning the Seria A is going to be their priority this season.

The Nerazzurri are a completely different team since Antonio Conte returned to Italy to manage them. With a record of 12 wins, 3 draws and 1 loss Inter Milan are now competing again for the Scudetto. The title race with Juventus is going to be brutal, but so far Inter are showing enough character to participate in this fight.

What’s problematic about Inter Milan is the fact that they made two draws in their last two games. After the draw against Roma at the San Siro, the Nerazzurri only won a point during the visit to Fiorentina as well. Borja Valero scored an early opener for Inter, but in the 92th minute the visitors conceded a goal. It was really dissapointing.

Genoa on the other hand are currently in the relegation zone, being 19th with 11 points. Right now Genoa are being managed by Inter Milan’s legend Thiago Motta, but he could be sacked if he doesn’t improve his team’s results. In their last five games Genoa won just 3 points.

We expect Inter Milan to dominate Genoa at the San Siro. After two consecutive draws in the league the Nerazzurri are obligated to win this one. Genoa would like to take something from this match, but right they don’t have the quality to trouble Inter away from home.
