Genoa – Inter

Genoa welcomes Inter in a game from the 35th round of the Italian Serie A.

Genoa are still fighting to secure their survival in the league, being on 5 points ahead of the 18th Crotone. They are very close to do it, but they still a need a point or two to reach this goal.

As for Inter, it is just another dissapointing season for the Nerazurri. The San Siro giants are currently 7th in the league standings, already out of hopes for an European qualifica-tion. They had a really strong run under the guidance of the manager Stefano Pioli, but soon after that Inter’s form dropped once again.

Stefano Pioli even tried to resign after the loss against Fiorentina just a few weeks ago, but the club’s board convinced him to at least finish the season. But now it’s already sure that Inter will once again have a new manager in the summer.

Genoa have some problems before the home game against Inter. Mauricio Pinilla, Diego Laxalt and Armanzo Izzo are suspended and they will miss the match. Matia Perin is al-ready feeling better, but he’ll have to wait until next season to play again.

As for Inter, Stefano Pioli will be without the suspended Jeison Murillo, while Miranda and Cristian Ansaldi are doubtful for the match because of injuries.

In terms of current form, both teams are terrible lately. Both teams were also unable to win neither one of their last five games, losing four of them. And if this is kinda normal for Ge-noa, for a club with Inter’s history and traditions it’s means a huge crisis. Inter’s board must to do some serious work during the summer, if they want the Nerazurri to return to their winning ways from the past. But first they must finish this season.
