England – Malta

No surprises – that’s what everyone is expecting from the game between England and Malta at the legendary Wembley. And how could someone think that England could misstep against the weakest team in the group?

The game between England and Malta is an interesting one, because it’s going to be a first one for the Three Lions’ new interim manager Gareth Southgate. He replaced the disgraced Sam Allardyce, who had to leave the position after he was caught doing illegal practices on camera.

England started their World Cup 2018 qualification campaign with a win, managing to beat Slovakia away from home in their first game. Far from surprising, Malta lost their first game, conceding five goals against Scotland in their opening game.

Everything except a huge win for England would be a major surprise in this game, so do not expect any heroics from Malta at the Wembley. The class difference is too high between these two teams.
