Dortmund – Tottenham
Can Borussia Dortmund do a miracle against Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League? This is the question we are asking ourselves before these two teams meet in a second leg from the Champions League 1/8-finals. After an amaizng 3-0 win in the first leg at Wembley, now Tottenham are touching the next phase of the competition. But Dortmund won’t give up without a fight.
Even without the injured Harry Kane and Dele Alli, Tottenham achieved an incredible win over the German team in the first leg. The first half at the Wembley ended without goals being scored, but after the halftime break we saw a pure storm in front of Dortmund’s goal. Son Heung-Min opened the score right after the break. In the last 10 minutes Spurs made their decisive blow, scoring two more after strikes from Jan Verthongen and Fernando Llorente. It was a pure nightmare for the current leader in the German Bundesliga.
Now Borussia Dortmund must play the perfect game in order to catch up with Tottenham. The Germans know that they shall not concede a goal at any cost, because an away goal for Spurs will decide everything. Dortmund’s manager Lucien Favre must come with a perfect gameplan in order to fix what happened in the first game.
As for Tottenham, their chances are boosted after the return of the captain Harry Kane. The striker is now ready to help his team reach the 1/4-finals. During the weekend Kane scored in the North London derby against Arsenal, which ended with a 1-1 draw.
In conclusion we can say that Tottenham are huge favourites to reach the 1/4-finals of the Champions League after what happened at the Wembley. The Germans need some kind of a miracle in order to progress. They can win this game, but to qualify – this is a whole different thing.
