Celtic – Milan

We are heading to the Celtic Park in Glasgow where Celtic will host AC Milan in a game from Group H of Europa League.

Celtic started the season hoping to reach the Champions League, but they were eliminated by Hungarian side Ferencvaros in the qualifiers. It was really dissapointing because Celtic had solid chances against this opponent. Things didn’t go well for Neil Lennon’s team, though. The Scottish team hosted Ferencvaros, but suffered a 1-2 defeat at home.

It seems that Celtic have some problems at the moment because few days ago they lost the Old Firm derby against their biggest rival Rangers. These two teams met at the Celtic Park, but Steven Gerrard’s Rangers came victorious with a 2-0 win. It was a really dissapointing day for Celtic and the current Premiership champions.

Milan on the other hand will arrive at Glasgow extremely confident. The Rossoneri also had a big derby during the weekend. Stefano Pioli’s team faced Inter Milan in the Derby della Madonnina and celebrated a 2-1 win. The veteran striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored both goals for Milan. The Swedish player is still phenomenal we should admit it.

With this win Milan are now leading the Serie A standings with 12 points won from 12 possible. They are the only team in the Calcio with a perfect record after the first four rounds. Could this season really be something more for the Rossoneri?

Most likely Stefano Pioli will rotate the team against Celtic. Players like Samu Castillejo, Sandro Tonali, Brahim Diaz, Diogo Dalot and Daniel Maldini could start in Glasgow. We expect that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will get some rest.

That’s our preview for the Europa League fixture between Celtic and AC Milan in Europa League. The Italians are the better team here, but let’s see how seriously they will take this competition.
