Burnley – Arsenal

Burnley will host Arsenal at the Turf Moor on Sunday in a game from the 25th round of the Premier League.

It might sound a little bit unusual, but Burnley and Arsenal are right now completely even in the standings. Both teams have won 30 points so far, but because of their goal difference, Arsenal are 10th at the moment and Burnley are 13th. This game is a chance for both teams to make a step in the right direction and improve their position in the table.

Burnley are feeling confident and inspired right now, because Sean Dyche’s boys won their last two games in the league against Leicester City and Manchester United. Especially impressive was that they beat United at the Old Trafford, which is always a difficult ground to play at.

Everything went great for Burnley at the Theatre of Dreams last week. Chris Woods opened the score for the visitors in the first half, while Jay Rodriguez doubled their lead with a second goal in David de Gea’s net.

Arsenal are in a run of three consecutive draws in the league at the moment. Most probably this is not what the manager Mikel Arteta wants to see as results, but on the positive note we can say that the Gunners are unbeaten in their last four matches.

Last week Arsenal made some heroic performance, because with 10 men on the pitch they won a point against Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge. The game ended with a 2-2 draw. David Luiz was sent off in an early stage of the match, but Martinelli and Bellerin’s goals won a point for Arsenal.

We can make the conclusion that Arsenal are still a work in progress since the arrival of the new manager Mikel Arteta. The young Spanish tactician will need time to change the team’s performance. Let’s see what they can do against Burnley at the Turf Moor.
