Belgium – Italy
We are heading to the Allianz Arena in Munich where Belgium will face Italy in probably the most exciting 1/4-finals game from Euro 2020. This is our preview for this match.
Belgium have four wins from four matches played at the European Championship so far. The Red Devils are playing for their first international trophy, so that’s a huge motivation for them. And they have the quality to do something big indeed.
In the 1/8-finals Belgium faced the current European champions Portugal and went through after a 1-0 win in Sevilla. The only goal was scored at the end of the first half when Thorgan Hazard put the ball in the net after an assist from Thomas Meunier. In the second half the Belgian defense did a good job and Roberto Martinez’ team kept its lead in the scoreline.
The good news for Martinez is that Kevin De Bruyne and Eden Hazard will be ready to face Italy on Friday.
Italy also won all of their three matches in the group stage, but they had some problems in the 1/8-finals. The regular time of their 1/8-finals game against Austira ended with a 0-0 draw, so everything was decided in the extra time. Federico Chiesa and Matteo Pessina scored the two goals for the Azzurri’s 2-1 win over Das Team. It wasn’t easy, but it was worth it for sure!
Some might say that Italy didn’t have their best game against Austria, and that’s probably true. But what’s most important is that they showed some impressive courage and fought until the end – that’s the quality which could make them European champions again. Italy are trying to win their first European crown since 1968.
That’s the preview for the Euro 2020 1/4-finals gem between Belgium and Italy. We are sure these two teams will offer us an amazing game. Be sure to watch!
