Bayern Munich – Hamburger
Bayern Munich welcomes Hamburger SV at the Allianz Arena in a game from the 22nd round of the Bundesliga.
There was a short period of time, when RB Leipzig were leading the Bundesliga standings, but now everything looks back to normal. The champion Bayern Munich has a 5 point advantage in front of RB Leipzig and it looks like the Bavarian giants are closing on another Bundesliga title. Just as it was expected.
Even with losing points in two of its last three games (against Hertha and Schalke 04), Carlo Ancelotti’s Bayern still enjoys a solid advantage in front of RB Leipzig in the league. Now it’s expected to see Bayern winning another one against Hamburger, especially taking into account the away’s team mediocre performance this season.
A former champion of Europe, now Hamburger SV are fighting against relegation in the Bundesliga. HSV are just one point above Werder Bremen and the relegation play-off, so they need every point possible to achieve their goal and survive. Of course, there are very few people who probaby think that this mission could begin particularly against Bayern at the Allianz Arena.
Carlo Ancelotti welcomes back two of his biggest leaders in the dressing room – Jerome Boateng and Franck Ribery. These two players are fully recovered from their last injuries and they are ready to come back on the pitch. The only injured player for Bayern remains the youngster Julian Green, who is still recovering from a thigh injury.
Hamburger can rely once again on the recovered Andreas Hirzel and Finn-Dominik Porath, but a lot of HSV’s players are doubtful for the visit to Munich. This includes Aaron Hunt, Albin Ekdal, Nicolai Müller, Kyriakos Papadopoulos and Nabil Bahoui, who are still healing their last injuries. It remains to be seen if they can participate in the match.
