Barcelona – Real Betis
Barcelona faces Real Betis at the Camp Nou in a match from the 9th round of La Liga. Two really good teams are going to go toe to toe in the Catalan capital, so let’s preview it.
Barca really need to step up when it comes to their La Liga performances. At this moment the Catalans are 12th in the league standings and they are 9 points behind the leaders Real Sociedad. What’s really worrying is the fact that Barcelona didn’t win neither one of their last four matches in La Liga. They are doing better in the Champions League, but they need to focus on La Liga as well. The manager Ronald Koeman and the players know it.
Last weekend Barcelona didn’t win again. Their visit to Deportivo Alaves ended with a 1-1 draw. Antoine Griezmann scored his first goal for the season, but it was not enough. Los Cules had a lot of opportunities to score a second one, but they didn’t have enough luck to do it.
During the week Barcelona have a game in the Champions League against Dynamo Kyiv, so Koeman will have to do some rotations again.
Real Betis are 7th in the La Liga standings with 12 points won from 8 matches played. It’s Manuel Pellegrini’s first season at the Benito Villamarin as a manager. His team showed some good things so far – we have to admit it.
In the previous round Real Betis hosted Elche at home and scored a 3-1 win. Barcelona’s ex-player Cristian Tello made an amazingly good performance. He scored two of the goals and assisted for Antonio Sanabria’s. You can be sure Tello is going to start against his former team at the Camp Nou.
That’s our preview for the La Liga fixture between Barcelona and Real Betis at the Camp Nou. We have a feeling it’d be a solid game in the Catalan capital. Let’s see.
